Global CyberLympics Hacking Competition Opens Registration for the 2013 Games and Lowers Entry Fees

Global CyberLympics, the World’s First International Ethical Hacking, Computer Forensics and Computer Network Defense competition opens registration for its 2013 games. The competition will be held from July 8th to September 19th, 2013.

Global CyberLympics, Hacking Competition Opens Registration for the 2013 Games

I am excited to watch our competition grow into a platform ... where today’s best in Cyber Defense can come together and work to shape tomorrow’s Cyber Warriors.

Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) March 07, 2013

In an effort to be as inclusive as possible, the Global CyberLympics Organization Committee has announced it will reduce the registration fees from $100 to $60 per team.

Teams that register by April 14th will have the opportunity to win up to $600! The CyberLympics administration team will hold a random drawing of all qualifying entries on April 15th. Winners will be notified by email. Register now at http://www.cyberlympics.org/RegisterContacts.aspx. (If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, a High School Competition is also available.)

The 2013 Cyberlympics competition will be held as an online, 4 round challenge per continent.

Round 1: Forensics

Round 2: Computer Network Defense

Round 3: Penetration Test

Round 4: Capture the Flag (The world finals is a mixture of the 3 rounds listed above)

About the 2012 Global Cyberlympics Games

The 2012 Global CyberLympics grew by over 200%, and increased the number of Countries that participated from 27 to 52. Last year’s world finals competition was an action packed 6 hours with hacker teams changing positions several times as they jockeyed for top honors. These final games drew a consistent crowd as Hacker Halted conference goers gathered to see which flags (servers) teams were capturing. In the end team Hack.ERS from the Netherlands were able to defend their World Championship title, as they reclaimed 1st place for the second year in a row. The 2nd place team was the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) Cyber Padawans of the USA and the 3rd place spot went to team gula.sh of Hungry.
