We recently used Qualified to remove an old decommissioned underground tank at our home. Qualified more than delivered. They took care of the necessary permits, and did a fantastic job!

Qualified Tank Services, a dedicated team of hazardous materials emergency response professionals based in South Plainfield New Jersey recently acquired new equipment to better help them provide disaster services to victims of Super Storm Sandy.

Since the earliest hours of the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy’s chaos and destruction, Qualified Tank Services has provided emergency service and disaster service as well as hazardous materials clean up to residents in NJ. In October of 2012, Qualified Tank Services responded to more than 70 incidents. “Many of those calls were assisting our regular customers as well as homeowners who had oil tanks floating in their basements,” said a spokesperson for Qualified Tank Services. “Qualified Tank Services is assisting all NJ residents with clean up of toxic and non-toxic waste as well as Oil Tank Removal in NJ. Especially along the shoreline, a toxic combination of cyanide, lead, and arsenic may still be lingering. If residents see or smell something suspicious that they think may be hazardous materials, they can call Qualified Tank Services and we’ll send a team out to clean up the waste.”

New Equipment Speeds Delivery of Disaster Services
Qualified Tank Services is also pleased to announce that it recently acquired new equipment to help it better respond to homeowners and companies with hazardous materials clean up. Those equipment items include:

  •     2013 Peterbuilt/Pressvac Vacuum Truck with a 3200 Gallon Carbon Steel Tank and 200 Feet of Suction Hose
  •     Kenworth T-800 Tri-Axle Roll Off Truck with a 75,000 lb Winch
  •     CAT 252B Skid Steer Unit with Clamshell Bucket, Sweeper and Fork Attachments
  •     Ford F-350 Crew Cab with Walk-In Utility
  •     Ford Excursion Command and Control HM-101 Unit

The CAT252B has been in near constant use since Super Storm Sandy hit, because of its ability to clear debris quickly.

Additional Staff Members Aid Hazardous Materials Clean Up Efforts
Qualified Tank Services also added new staff members whose expertise have been invaluable in assisting Super Storm Sandy victims to remove hazardous materials from their properties and facilities. Chuck Reinwald joined the company in late 2012 as the new Safety and Transportation Manager; Michael Borelli came on board as a Response Planning Specialist/Incident Commander. As a Battalion Chief with the Jersey City, NJ Fire Department, Mr. Borelli brings years of experience handing incidents with hazardous materials spills to Oil Tank Removal. These staff additions as well as that of Sean Kelley as a Team Leader and Paul Macchiaverna as a Hazardous Materials Technician bring considerable training, expertise, knowledge and compassion to the Qualified Tank Services team, making it stronger, more agile and better able to response quickly to disaster service and emergency service calls throughout New Jersey.
