On March 14, Online Bed Quilt, a retailer of beds, responds to an article published by CBS Minnesota that details a new study revealing the consequences of not sleeping.
Pilar Gerasimo, the editor-in-chief of Experience Life Magazine, commented to CBS Minnesota stating, “Increasingly, there’s this body of research that just keeps growing that shows us that sleep is essential, not just to our general health of mood, but to our immunity, hormonal balance, metabolism and ability to think clearly during the day.”
Justin Maas, an expert on beds from Online Bed Quilt, agrees with Gerasimo. “People often don’t realize how important sleep is to daily functions and cell regeneration,” he says. “Your organ tissues and muscles are repaired throughout the night when you sleep. When this is disrupted, there’s a higher probability of getting into a car accident or even just making miscellaneous errors.”
Maas says National Sleep Awareness Week is a great way to educate people on how bad a lack of sleep really is.
“This is a great time to inform people on the consequences of skipping out on getting those recommended seven or eight hours of sleep per night,” he says. “It’s also an opportunity to advise people on how to go about picking out proper bedding. It’s necessary to get one that you’re comfortable in. You want to make sure your spine lines up properly when lying down so your body is able to relax.”
National Sleep Awareness Week takes place from March 3 to10.
