The name change is an acknowledgement of how quickly we became recognized first as ‘The Halo BI’ company

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) March 11, 2013

Business analytics software developer iQ for Business announced today that it has changed its name to Halo Business Intelligence (Halo BI). Additionally, the company promoted its president and chief operating officer, Ray Major, to CEO. Prior to iQ for Business, Major was a senior vice president with research and information titan The Nielsen Company. Halo BI’s previous CEO, Steve Hammerslag will remain with the organization as Chairman.

Founded as an enterprise software developer and consultancy in Auckland, New Zealand in 2001, the company grew to be the country’s most successful business intelligence firm in just over five years. Riding a wave of global expansion, in 2008 it re-located its headquarters to California and opened offices in Europe, Australia and China. In 2010 Ray Major joined the company as president and oversaw the development of a new software platform, Halo Business Intelligence. The company now counts hundreds of enterprise, government and non-profit organizations as customers worldwide.

“The name change is an acknowledgement of how quickly we became recognized first as ‘The Halo BI’ company, and second as iQ for Business,” Major said. “From the time it was announced early last year, the response to the Halo product name was very positive and explaining the iQ for Business connection almost became a distraction. It only made sense to leverage Halo’s strength by aligning our company name with the product brand.”

Released in 2012, Halo Business Intelligence is a software platform that combines traditional business and financial analytics and reporting with mobile business intelligence, big data visualization, and cloud-based collaboration tools. Built on top of Microsoft’s industry-standard business software, Halo Business Intelligence offers the advanced features of multi-million dollar, custom-built business analytics systems found in the world’s largest organizations at a price point tailored for small-to-mid-sized companies.

“Ray’s vision and leadership have been key to the growth and success of this company,” said Halo BI chairman Steve Hammerslag. “His experience with Nielsen and background in business, economics and data analysis were transformational in the development of Halo BI and the way business intelligence is tailored for the mid-market enterprise. I am very excited about the future of this industry and the new heights that Ray in his role as CEO will help us achieve,” he said.
