Boulder, CO (PRWEB) March 14, 2013
Renewable Choice Energy (http://www.renewablechoice.com), a leading provider of renewable energy, carbon offsets, and sustainability consulting services based in Boulder, Colorado, today launched its Wind PowerED campaign, an educational program designed to provide free resources to elementary educators interested in teaching kids about renewable energy and climate change.
The program offers 3-5th grade teachers in the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain school districts in Boulder County teaching plans and visual aides to help children learn about electricity, the causes of climate change, and sources of renewable energy like wind power. Program participants will also receive a “Make Earth Day Every Day” button and have the opportunity to participate in Renewable Choice’s Earth Day art contest, the winner of which will be selected via a social media-based voting process.
While the initial pilot of the program targets kids in Boulder County, Renewable Choice invites any interested educators to apply to participate.
“We are excited about Wind PowerED,” said Amy Haddon, Vice President of Communications for Renewable Choice. “This program allows us to share our expertise on climate change and renewable energy in a fun, engaging way with Colorado kids. We’re also honored to partner with local schools and to provide free teaching resources to our hard-working elementary school teachers.”
