Skeptics believe the Surge Buster will not provide that much of a difference in hauling liquids. Once the product is tested, however they are amazed how it changed a liquid load into a solid load.

The Surge Buster® brings a new technology to reducing surge in liquid loads. Unlike traditional baffles, which attempt to control surge after it develops in a liquid load, the Surge Buster® is designed to prevent surge. This is accomplished by deflecting the directional energy and preventing it from creating a wave action. The Ellipsoid design creates thousands of deflection angles, formed by the paddle and the center ring of the Surge Buster®. As a result, the directional energy or surge is reduced by 94 to 98 percent in all directions, not just front to back in the case of a traditional two wall baffle system. The reduced surge has multiple positive effects on the tank and transport vehicle, from maintenance benefits to safety of the motor vehicle operator. Due to the absence of solid contact points and the flexing from the design, the Surge Buster® has a self-cleaning effect by preventing the entrapment of materials. “Skeptics believe the Surge Buster® will not provide that much of a difference in hauling liquids. Once the product is tested, however they are amazed how it changed a liquid load into a solid load,” said Bill and Kay Wilson, owner, inventor and patent holder of the Surge Buster®.
The original Surge Buster® product line is made from a proprietary blend of polypropylene resin allowing it to be FDA approved for food grade and potable water applications. They also meet National Fire Protection Association (N.F.P.A.) standards for application in fire prevention equipment. The SB807 model fits into a lid eight inches or greater and requires one Surge Buster® for every 30 gallons liquid in the tank. SB815 model fits into a lid sixteen inches or greater and it requires one Surge Buster® for every 32 gallons of liquid in the tank.
Surge Buster® recently introduced a new product designed specifically for fuel. The SBF15 model is distinct in its blue color versus the white color in the other products. The mold and specifications are identical to the original Surge Buster®, but specially blended with nylon resin technology. The product was created to meet possible demand from a proposed regulation by the Federal Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) concerning fuel transport and other hazardous materials in compliance with standards. The cost of inserting the fuel specific Surge Buster® needed for a truck tanker is approximately 15 percent the cost of welding in baffles, including the extra down time.

Plastic-Mart launched an online presence in 2004 to offer wholesalers and consumers a one-stop shopping site for a variety of rotational-mold plastic storage and transportation containers via drop ship. Though Plastic-Mart specializes in plastic tanks, expansion is taking place in retail and industrial products. Plastic-Mart’s unique advantage in the market place is a direct link to a majority of manufacturers in the industry. This relationship creates a distribution system that provides one of the fastest in the industry. The presence of a ‘virtual’ warehouse reduces lead time from months to weeks by offering multiple product options across the U.S. and Canada. Plastic-Mart accepts custom orders which separate the company from other wholesalers.
