Avanquest Recommends Types of Software for ICA, IMG, INFO, and IPX Files

File extension ICA, IMG, INFO, and IPX are associated with a variety of different file types one of which is a raster image file type. Taking into account that the raster image format is used with website graphics as well as photos created with a digital camera and that raster images use different file extensions which depend upon the program which created the file, Avanquest recently published recommendations on the main types of software to open ICA, IMG, INFO, and IPX files associated with this file type.

File extension ICA is a raster image file type which is used to store images in an archive or for scanning and printing. ICA files contain bitmaps and information which describes the image including both black and white and color.

File extension IMG is a raster image in an older format known as the GEM format which was formerly used with the GEM Paint software application. Although this type of raster image is in an older format, it can be opened and edited using a variety of modern day applications.

File extension INFO stores data related to images which are saved in the ZoomBrowser photo album. INFO files are typically thumbnail images which act as an index files for locating full sized images in the ZoomBrowser directory.

File extension IPX is a raster image file which is created with IPIX image editing programs. IPX files are used to create images that offer a photo in a 360 degree environment which is comprised of several images that have been combined together. This type of raster image is typically used by realtors and architects to provide virtual tours of buildings and various types of real estate.

There are a variety of different software applications which can be used to open and work with file extension INFO, ICA, IMG, and IPX. Some of the software applications include the following:

Adobe Photoshop CS6: Photoshop CS6 is part of the Adobe Creative Suite of applications. The application provides a versatile array of tools and functions for working with file extension IMG. Photoshop CS6 is available in a trial version on the Adobe website and is compatible with Windows and Mac OS X.

XnView: File extension ICA, IMG, and INFO can be opened using XnView which is an open source graphics viewer and conversion application that supports more than 400 graphics formats. XnView is compatible with Windows Mac OS X, and the Linux operating system

CorelDRAW: For a Windows-based PC, IMG files can be opend with CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 or Corel PaintShop Pro X5. Both applications are available in a trial version on the Corel website and are compatible with the Windows operating system.

IPIX: File extension IPX can be opened using any IPIX image editing application. The IPIX applications include Viewer, Interactive Studio, i-Linker, Browser Plug-in, Java Viewer, Real Estate Wizard, and Multimedia Tool Kit. IPIX applications can be downloaded on the IPIX website and are compatible with Windows and Mac OS X.

GIMP: This is a comprehensive photo and image editing software application that is multiplatform and allows opening and editing ICA, IMG and INFO files in addition to other image formats. GIMP is open source and is available as an unpaid download on the GIMP.org website. GIMP is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, and the Linux operating system.

ZoomBrowser EX: File extension INFO can be opened using the ZoomBrowser EX application which is available on the Canon website. ZoomBrowser EX is designed to be used with the Windows operating system.

These are a few of the applications recommended by Avanquest to open ICA, IMG, INFO, and IPX files. Additional research on the topic in the file extension database will locate more software applications which are compatible with these file extensions.
