In wake of the recent report, we wanted to the communities to be aware of this program and its immediate availability to help families save on their car insurance while helping to ensure their children are safe behind the wheel
New York, New York (PRWEB) March 20, 2013
In response to a report released last month by the Governors Highway Safety Association stating the increase of teen deaths in first half of 2012, Business Review commends J Michael Insurance’s leadership in road safety by rewarding discounts up to 30 per cent with Drive Wise Program to safe drivers. The local Allstate brokerage encourages Ohio parents with teen drivers to educate their kids in safe driving habits during upcoming rainy, spring weather conditions.
Members of the Drive Wise program will receive a small, wireless device to plug into their vehicle's OBD port located under the dashboard in most car models. No GPS data is collected. Drivers are more likely to receive the performance based auto insurance discount if they meet the following criteria:
- Mileage- Drive approximately less then 12k miles per year
- Speed- Drive at lower speeds
- Hours- Typically drive between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to
5 a.m. on weekends
- Breaking- Avoid hard stops
Jason Michael, Founder of J Michael Insurance LLC says about the program, “Ohio is one of the handful of states that offers the Drive Wise program. In wake of the recent report, we wanted to the communities to be aware of this program and its immediate availability to help families save on their car insurance while helping to ensure their children are safe behind the wheel.” Drivers can view their performance online and also receive a 10 per cent discount on their premiums upon enrolling. Mr. Michaels continues, “Drivers can also earn up to 30 per cent if they earn the full Drive Wise Performance Rating discount combined with other safe driving discounts. It’s a program we are very proud of that can help promote safer roads for Ohio teens.”
The Drive Wise input device collects data per car and will be used to create the Performance Rating Discount on a per vehicle basis. Data collected through the Drive Wise program will not be used in calculating a driver’s car insurance premium.
