Loaded 7 is a new complete ecommerce platform and software package that will offer the most advanced open source shopping cart solution on the market. Independent storeowners can easily download and set up shopping carts, which can be used to sell physical shipped goods, services, and digital electronic goods. It provides merchants the ability to install templates, or themes as they are sometimes called, and the flexibility to change them often. Loaded 7 also comes with a simple software update tool, a built in add on store, HTML 5 boilerplate and a search engine optimized framework.
Arguably the most impressive feature of Loaded 7’s software is its ability to seamlessly adjust to any screen size. The shopper can browse the online store from a desktop PC, tablet, or mobile phone and enjoy a smooth feature rich user experience. Other shopping cart software programs require a third party service to render the site properly on mobile devices. Salvatore Iozzia, founder & CEO of Loaded Commerce, said “We see a push towards mobile in the market, but not a lot of good options for small to medium merchants. So, we are making Responsive Mobile free to everyone in our open source edition.”
Alpha 2, the latest pre-release version of Loaded 7, focuses on the administrative functionality of the software. E-Retailers can manage the administrative access of users, change admin passwords and utilize a storewide Ajax search. A first for ecommerce, administrators can now utilize keyboard shortcuts to quickly perform various tasks within the store admin.
Finally, this latest version includes a Core Code Updater. This feature allows the administrator to update their Loaded 7 shopping cart software with one click from directly inside the admin interface all while creating a back up of their site before the update occurs and checking add on compatibility.
Loaded 7 is released under GPL 2.0 license and is based on OSCommerce v3a5.
