The .ME Registry, operator of the .ME domain name extension, and Go Daddy, the Web’s top platform for small businesses, are accepting applications for the third annual .ME scholarship contest until March 30, 2013. Ten tech-forward students will win a $10,000 scholarship each to offset their college tuition.

The .ME Registry partnered with Go Daddy in 2010 to create the national scholarship program as a way to support students who are driven by technology and are on their way to becoming successful entrepreneurs.

“Winning the scholarship let me know I was on to something worthwhile,” said Go Daddy Scholar and owner and blogger behind TeenDomainer.com, Brian Diener. “As a way of saying thanks, I try to help others learn about what I do and how the Internet can help them with their ideas and projects. Winning the Go Daddy dot-ME scholarship was a major highlight in my Internet career.”

The scholarship is open to students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher with an ACT score of 21+ or SAT score of 1,000+. To apply, applicants must submit a 500-word essay explaining how the Internet or Internet technology has helped them advance their athletic, artistic or intellectual pursuits, and how they envision benefitting from technology through college and beyond. Essays are judged on quality, creativity and originality.

“We strongly encourage all students who think they may be eligible for the scholarship to apply,” said Predrag Lesic, CEO of the .ME Registry. “ It is with great pleasure that we help fund the studies of talented students who may become tomorrow’s technology leaders and change the world in ways we could not even imagine.“

The application period ends March 30, 2013. Scholarship recipients will be announced at the end of April 2013. For more information about the Go Daddy .ME Scholarship program and to apply, please visit GoDaddyScholarship.me.
