(PRWEB UK) 22 March 2013

UK retailers are slower to adapt to mobile performance standards, with only half of UK retailers optimised for mobile search.

The data from Skava and Forrester research reveals that mobile search is only pushing about 1% of all online sales currently in the UK, despite Europeans showing an interest in mobile shopping.

M:Commerce is growing at more than 43% annually and by 2017, mobile is expected to be responsible for more than 6.5% of online sales within the UK.

Ben Austin, Managing Director at SEO Positive, has responded to the data with interest:

“Mobile search is a fast growing sector and is accounting for more and more search queries. It is an era that ecommerce businesses cannot afford to ignore, as consumers decide to shop via their smartphone and tablet devices – at home and on the go. By optimising your site for mobile search, you can ensure you target the right consumers and increase conversions by offering easily accessible information.”
