Chino gopher control is the talk of the town because property owners are plagued by the never ending battle of pocket gophers and gopher control. Gophers are small rodents which burrow in the ground eating the plants and grass. Made famous in the movie Caddy Shack starring Bill Murray, attempting to catch, drown and even use a gun on a gopher can be hard.
Lots of Chino property owners attempt gopher extermination with information on the internet, poisons from nurseries and drowning with a garden hose. Every once in a while they will get lucky with the gopher, but they seem to just keep coming.
Ignoring the signs, these pesky gophers will consume all the grass and flowers until nothing is left. The telltale sign of gophers is the mounds of dirt on the surface. The gopher dirt piles are from the tunneling they create. The dirt mounds also damage the lawn by smothering the lawn.
Sooner or later the turf has dead areas from gophers eating the grass and from the mounds covering and smothering the turf. One can gaze out their window and see a plant jiggling and watch as it slowly disappears, never to be seen again.
Fruit bearing trees and other large root vegetation can take some gnawing on the roots and still be able to be OK. The chewing from gophers will slow growth and slow the production of the tree.
The solution is not an easy one. Chino property owners are challenged because they can’t buy industrial strength poison and trapping requires a learning curve. Some companies sell repellents and sonic beepers, which don’t work and should be avoided. Better to spend your hard earned money on proven techniques or hire a professional. The easy way out is not always the best way.
Rodent Guys will use carbon monoxide combined with poison or trapping. Poison bait is used where dogs or other pets, wildlife and children are not at high risk. Trapping is done where these risks are elevated. Rodent Guys will give a recommendation but ultimately the decision is up the customer which option is used.
