Finalizing pricing for group ski packages and general rates for the 2013-2014 ski season

(PRWEB) March 22, 2013

Sports America will be attending Ski Tops University and Network 2013 to meet with the leading the ski industry partners. The conference is based around finalizing pricing for group ski packages and general rates for the 2013-2014 ski season. Contracts between tour operators, resorts, properties, and rental agencies will all be updated and signed by the end of the conference to be able to start the group booking process for the next ski season.

Ski Tops University is hosted every year to educate tour operators about the ski resorts, properties, and rental agencies they work with. This gives an opportunity for new sales agents on the tour operator side to quickly educate themselves with the industry. It also serves as a continuing education and refresher for veteran sales agents.

Resorts often take this time to educate agents about improvements that have been made over the past year or that will be taking place over the summer. Ski rental companies inform agents of new locations and services. While properties present updates to the property and newly added amenities.

Ski Tops Network is the other half of the conference and is focused on the tour operators informing the ski resorts, properties, and rental agencies how they can improve their relationship moving forward.

The conference presents a unique situation where the ski industry can congregate and do business face to face. The leading companies in the ski industry are located in many locations spread across the mountain ranges and tour operators have headquarters in various states, Ski Tops offers a time and place for everyone to gather and discuss business.

Ski Tops is held at different locations every year. Last year the University was held in Reno, Nevada while the Network was held in Canyons, Utah. This is the first year the industry will be running both events at the same location during the same week. The change has been made to help save travel costs. This year Ski Tops University and Network will be held in Big Sky, Montana.

To be the host location of Ski Tops is a competitive process. The hosting resort gets to have the tour operators in the industry experience their resort and gain personal general knowledge of the area.

Sports Americas President, Mike Hibbard, sits as the program chair for Ski Tops and has since 2010. Sports America will be sending four representatives to Ski Tops 2013, those representatives being Mike Hibbard, Matt Hollis, Lisa Morgan, and Kaitlin Bahrijczuk. Once Ski tops has concluded Sports America will be able to start accurately packaging custom group ski packages for the 2013-2014 ski season.
