According to avid traveler Troy Reddell, the Gold Coast area is one of the top tourist destinations in all of Australia; to illustrate his point, Reddell points to a recent article, listing the Top 10 Gold Coast attractions. The list ranks some of the region’s most appealing features, ranging from its restaurants and bars to its cabanas and shopping areas. Troy Reddell has issued a new statement to the press, commenting on the list and offering his own suggestions for those visiting the Gold Coast area.

The top-ranked entry on the list is the Gold Coast’s “rock star cabanas.” According to the article, the famously luxurious private cabanas are more numerous—and more accessible—than ever before, offering Gold Coast visitors the foremost in comfort and privacy.

Coming in at #10 on the list, meanwhile, is Troy Reddell’s personal favorite destination, the Coolangatta surf mecca—affectionately known to locals as the Cooly. The article notes the Cooly’s “distinct village vibe,” which distinguishes it from the slightly more tourist-centered areas that surround it. At the Cooly, visitors can find both superior holiday flats as well as excellent surfing opportunities.

In his new statement to the press, Reddell celebrates Coolangatta’s inclusion on the list, but notes that, if anything, the Cooly should rank higher. “It is to see the vibe at Cooly makes its way into the Top 20 reasons to visit the Gold Coast, but I can’t understand why it’s not closer to number 1,” Reddell says. “It’s hard to find a better holiday location then staying at the Nirvana resort at Kirra and relaxing at some of the world’s best beaches, from Kirra through to Rainbow Bay. The place still has that small beach-town feel but also has all the modern conveniences and facilities you need.”

Also included on the list are numerous restaurants and bars. Of particular note is a relatively new area called Oracle Avenue. Even a year ago, the article reports, this strip was cluttered with empty retail shopping space, but now, it is one of the busiest and most promising shopping areas in the entire Gold Coast region. Here, tourists will find numerous restaurants, coffee shops, and boutique shops.

The list is rounded out with endorsements for the various shopping outlets found in Harbour Town; for such family-oriented attractions as Sea World and Dino Island; for the various cruise ship and ice skating opportunities; and for the famous Cavill Shopping Mall.
