Raymond Lee Jewelers recently gave back to the Palm Beach County community by supporting a trio of local nonprofit organizations -- one of which Waterfront Properties and Club Communities strongly supports -- via its Facebook “Give Thanks & Give Back Challenge.” Through the challenge, Raymond Lee Jewelers, which is headquartered in Boca Raton, donated a total of $8,000 to the three groups.

Big Dog Ranch Rescue, of Wellington, took first place and earned a donation of $5,000 from Raymond Lee Jewelers. The nonprofit on Acme Road near the Aero Club has a mission of providing housing and medical care to unwanted dogs – both big and small – until they are adopted.

The American Red Cross Palm Beaches-Treasure Coast Region took second place and was gifted $2,000. The emergency-response charity serves imperiled residents out of its offices in Belle Glade, Boca Raton, Okeechobee, Port Saint Lucie, Stuart, Vero Beach and West Palm Beach. Waterfront Properties' clients live and work in many of the municipalities the American Red Cross Palm Beaches-Treasure Coast Region serves, and the boutique brokerage's managing partner, Rob Thomson, has volunteered with the agency for years.

Third place went to Be A Star Foundation, of North Palm Beach. Be A Star Foundation received $1,000 toward its mission of making a difference in the lives of children with cancer.

The “Give Thanks & Give Back Challenge” involved Raymond Lee Jewelers inviting its Facebook fans to nominate and vote for their favorite Palm Beach County-based nonprofit organizations for one month. Fans chose a total of 10, then voted for their favorite cause and encouraged their family members and friends to chime in with their votes, as well. By the end of the month, more than 15,000 votes were cast.

Raymond Lee Jewelers frequently gives away jewelry to Facebook fans and members of its online community. This time, though, the company took the opportunity to create a challenge of its own to give back to organizations that truly make a difference in the lives of others.

“As a proud member of the Boca Raton community for 30 years, we thought this was the perfect time to ‘Give Thanks & Give Back’ in appreciation of all the support we have received,” said Jeff Josephson, president and owner of Raymond Lee Jewelers. “With our challenge, we were able to not only help our fans’ favorite local charities but also raise awareness of the amazing things the organizations do for the community.”
