The Bridge Run is a positive event
Charleston, SC (PRWEB) March 27, 2013
On March 26, 2013, My Positive Perspective host Jason Deierlein and co-founder of the Bridge Run, Terry Hamlin were featured in an episode. The episode mentioned the numerous positive elements that the Bridge Run brings to Charleston. Deierlein began the episode stating, “The Bridge Run has positive implications to our economy and our culture. It brings tourists to our town and promotes a message of healthy living with exercise.” When asked about how he got the idea to start the Bridge Run event, Hamlin replied, “There wasn’t any organized running club in Charleston in the 1970s, and I wanted to change that.” Hamlin continued, “After some organization, we got the idea to form an event centered on the Cooper River Bridge.”
When Deierlein asked Hamlin how the participation escalated at such a high rate, Hamlin replied, “The first year we made several tactical errors, “We scheduled the first Bridge Run on a Sunday and this was a problem because most everybody goes to church on Sundays. “We also had errors in marketing and also in publicity. However, we learned from these errors and have seen participation in the event take off.” At the end of the episode, Deierlein congratulated Hamlin on creating quite possibly the biggest annual event in Charleston. Saying, “Your vision has resulted in an event that is one of the things that makes Charleston so unique.”
My Positive Perspective is a media outlet believing that improvement in our community will be best achieved by focusing on the good things happening in our world today. Having survived a near fatal car accident as a youth,a shift of perception forced me to have a mentality of always concentrating on the brighter sides of things. This was true, and in my book, Return From a Comatose Mind, this belief was put to the test. Appreciation for life was the biggest thing one took away from my brush with death, and it is because of that gives me such a huge desire to be helpful to many. My Positive Perspective is a way of dealing with problems.
