Experienced family therapist Christine Alisa reveals in “Turning the Hourglass: Children’s Passage through Traumas and Past Lives” (published by AuthorHouse) how regression therapy for children can solve a host of behavior problems by uncovering and healing past traumas.

In “Turning the Hourglass,” Alisa presents case studies from past therapy sessions written in the children’s own words rather than clinical language. Throughout each child’s story, Alisa provides notes clarifying her work, the reasons she utilized certain techniques, and provides additional background on the child’s state of mind at the time of the therapy session.

As illustrated in the book, Alisa uses a combination of gestalt therapy and past life therapy in her sessions, which enables the child to “uncover and let go of unconscious material,” she says.

Each chapter covers specific issues such as anger, learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, behavioral problems and the affects of divorce. Adult readers will be able to identify with and associate the educational stories to their own childhoods, while others will find insight and practical advice for their own children.

“My main purpose in writing this book is to make available to many a process of therapy that includes healing traumas of all kinds,” Alisa says.
