Agreenability today announced its move to new headquarters at the Bergen Community College Business Accelerator, where the firm will expand the introduction of its new TWISTER™ heat exchanger for residential and commercial geothermal heating and cooling needs. The Business Accelerator (see related announcement at: http://www.bergen.edu/meadowlands/accelerator/Pages/Accelerator-Highlights.aspx) is a function of the school that helps "green" entrepreneurs to develop environmentally friendly technologies and products. Agreenability’s recent commercial introduction of TWISTER™ was influenced by such academic support.

“This is a valuable and logical step for Agreenability,” said company President/CEO, Robert Jensen. “With our product rollout taking place initially in the New Jersey region, we can more effectively bring this patent-pending technology to a growing number of applications, while reducing costs by 20% and drilling requirements by 30%. That means contractors can enjoy both its simple installation process and reductions in loop length at the same time.”

Moving forward, Agreenability will expand its marketing efforts to the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions, in addition to upcoming arrangements in other areas throughout the United States, Jensen added.

Geothermal heat pumps provide a ‘green’ option for heating/cooling needs because they circulate a fluid through pipes buried in the ground to heat or cool this liquid (see illustration). Once pumped through a heating/cooling aparatus, the addition of the ground heating loop in the system means that temperature management is more efficient than any other heating and cooling method that is commercially available today.

TWISTER™ uses standard methods for installation, so there are no complications surrounding warranties, state/association approvals, or learning new installation techniques. It has a foolproof grouting method through the center conduit that ensures ‘bottom-up’ grouting. This in turn ensures the optimal thermal contact between pipes and borehole wall. The centered grout process keeps the pipes in close proximity to the borehole walls for optimal performance.

As an incentive to promote early adopters, Agreenability is seeking qualified design/installation companies to participate in its Preferred Partnering program. Those firms joining in the program will enjoy a select status, special pricing, and gain hands-on experience to help put them ahead of the competition.

Technical information:
TWISTER™ uses ¾” ASTM D3035/D3350 Cell Classification 445574C SDR 11 or 13.5 HDPE (IGSHPA Requirement) pipe spirally wound around a central 2” pipe used to guide the Tremie pipe. It is delivered on reels or in coils, and factory prepared u-bend fittings means that Twisted pipe heat exchangers can be slipped down the hole like a conventional u-bend loop. As a result, there is no extra fieldwork to install Twisted pipe systems.
