It’s time for students to begin to plan their summer vacations. IED (Istituto Europeo di Design), headquartered in Milan, Italy, asks students, "Why not enjoying your spare time upgrading your career?" That’s is just what IED offers students of design, fashion, visual communication, and management, in Italy and Spain.
IED invites students to come to Rome, Milan, Florence, Turin, Venice, Cagliari, Madrid and Barcelona and choose one of their 50 summer courses, which vary in length from three to four weeks every summer. Some of the programs offered by IED include: fashion marketing, architectural sketchbook, fashion events and PR, museum and gallery development and design, digital marketing, and design in gastronomy.
These intensive courses offer both students the possibility to complete and enhance skills and knowledge. Courses are divided into 'Introductory', which is designed for students with no prior knowledge or experience in the discipline and 'Advanced', which is designed for students who already have academic or professional experience in the area of study and are interested in developing their skills and professional portfolios.
The IED Summer Experience allows for three-day weekends, in order to provide students with the opportunity to take part in and experience local exhibitions and traditional celebrations, as well as to explore the cultural and artistic treasures that Italy and Spain have to offer. They urge students, "Discover the course that fits you, and design for your future in Italy or Spain!"
For those students who want to extend their stay and upgrade your professional career, IED Italy and Spain offer a wide selection of 'Master' programs, designed to respond to the need for continuous training to enter in an increasingly demanding job market. These curricula combine a cultural context, with cross-disciplinary knowledge and theoretical and technical specialization, integrating theoretical content of lectures with practical studio work and company visits.
IED also offers to international young talent students to compete for 38 international scholarships for its undergraduate courses for the 2013-2014 in Italy, Spain and Brazil. The theme is ‘Design for Another Point of View’. Entries may be sent by email until April 16, 2013, 23.59 (Italian time).
