Marisector LLC is now licensing its unique and maritime industry specific courses for use by maritime operating companies, maritime risk management companies, educational institutions with maritime curricula, and marine agencies. The goal of this course is to provide instruction in the basic concepts of safety and security in relation to awareness, observation, and reporting where applicable in their day-to-day work, community, or home environment.
Its objective is for the student to become familiar with many basic maritime safety and security concepts. The student will understand his/her responsibility to report safety or security observations to the appropriate authorities. The student will understand that he/she is an observer and is not a qualified first responder without additional training.
The content of this course consists of two essential topics; one part relates to security issues and the second to safety issues unique to the maritime industry.
The goal of this course is to provide the global maritime industry with a personnel training program at an advanced level suitable to establish a sound foundation for maritime security and defense and to provide an avenue for advanced professional development for the maritime security and defense environment. This course meets the general needs of personnel assigned to security duties aboard vessels, port facilities, and offshore facilities. The course deals with piracy, terrorism, criminal activities, and civil unrest.
Pre-deployment armed maritime security personnel will gain specialized knowledge necessary to operate effectively in the unique civil environment found in the maritime industry. Students will gain a general detailed knowledge of most maritime threats and an understanding of options for countering those threats. Students will have an understanding of the application of vigilance and watch standing. They will be able to assist in the training of other crew personnel about various security and defense requirements. They will also be able to meet the needs of the regional and global demands of maritime security and defense.
This course is ideal for anyone who must make essential decisions about maritime security and vessel defense.
This advanced course is designed for ships’ officers, private maritime security professionals, and others assigned to lead and/or make security and defensive decisions affecting vessels, port facilities, and offshore facilities. The prerequisite to this course is the Basic Course. Upon completion of this course the student is expected to be competent in the knowledge and skills necessary to be effective as a vessel security team leader.
The goal of this course is to provide personnel assigned to leadership positions in maritime security and defense with the essential leadership knowledge and skills to make them more effective leaders on vessel and facilities with multi-cultural crews or staffs. It will provide security officers with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide continuing and effective training and drills for their teams and tfor the crews on the vessels or facilities to which they are assigned
The course will provide students with the necessary understanding of the attack process, threat identification, and application of ship’s resources so that they may counter that process by the judicial application of available defensive resources. A decision making process is included to help security leaders respond effectively to many types of maritime threats using the available ship’s systems whenever possible.
Students completing this course will have become familiar with many tactics suitable for use in a commercial environment.
The goals of this course include the provision of a program for a level of training suitable for the establishment of a sound foundation for maritime security and defense of small boats and charter yachts. Another goal is to provide an avenue for advanced professional development into the maritime security and defense environment.
