Materials needed are some pliable branches preferably collected from the ground, a string, and wool roving or pieces of old wool sweaters. Make a small loop with one of the branches and twist it to secure it. Wind around and around more branches while creating a spherical shape.
Gently stuff the wool inside the shape and let some pieces poke out so that they are easily accessible for the birds. Tie a piece of string to the top of the ball and hang it from a tree. The kids will love to observe the ball for days to come.
Other fun outdoor spring activities for kids include making a snail garden, creating a mud pit, building a backyard volcano, creating a floating flower display, making fun leafy necklaces, and making a homemade water craft table.
Making dirt soup and preserving spider webs are just some of the kids favorite springtime activities. Fun yard work activities for kids will help them get involved doing some necessary spring garden clean up.
