North Andover, MA (PRWEB) April 01, 2013

L-com, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products, has released a line of industrial enclosures for smaller applications that require the protection of electrical equipment or wiring in wet, dusty, or corrosive environments. The new NBV series industrial enclosures are made of VALOX® 375U crystalline thermoplastic polyester that is easily punched, drilled, sawed or filed, but offers a performance profile engineered for demanding end-use environments.

The new enclosures come in seven different sizes, ranging from 5"x3"x3" (12.7cm x 7.6cm x 7.6cm) to 7"x7"x3" (17.8cm x 17.8cm x 7.6cm). The tongue and groove gasket fitting provides an oil-resistant, watertight, and dust seal, allowing the enclosures to achieve IP66 (IEC 529) protection. They are UL/CSA® and NEMA rated for types 4, 4x, 3, 3R, 12 and 13, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. The molded internal bosses allow for back panel mounting of components or DIN rails, making them perfect for a number of applications, including:

  •      Insulated electrical junction boxes
  •      Terminal wiring boxes
  •      Electrical control boxes
  •      Housing boxes for instruments or pushbutton controls

"While most of our industrial enclosures are large, there are a number of small-housing applications in industrial environments," said Patrick Pesa, Director of Product Development. "To suit these applications, we decided to offer a line of enclosures that are miniaturized, but that still offer the full protection and insulation of a larger enclosure."

In addition to the protective features of these new enclosures, L-com reports that the light gray color is clean, cool, and aesthetically pleasing, and the contoured body provides an attractive and contemporary appearance when installed. Datasheets and 2D engineering drawings are available on the L-com website.
