Free health screenings, complimentary breakfast and lunch, chair massages, and more.

St. Rose Parish and School, in partnership with St. Clare Commons, will host more than 30 local senior living, health and wellness resources and hundreds of seniors considering health and safety concerns.

The health and safety fair is free and open to the public. Complimentary continental breakfast, provided by Kingston Health, and lunch, provided by JB’s Sarnies, will be available to all attendees.

Several businesses will offer services and screenings to participants:

  •     Balance and gait screenings by Ohioans Home Health
  •     Nervous system screenings by Turning Point Chiropractic
  •     Chair massages by Bartholomy Massage
  •     Metabolism evaluations by Thin & Healthy of St. Julian’s Fitness
  •     Blood pressure checks by Heritage Health Care
  •     Osteoporosis screenings by Interim Home Health
  •     Scheduling of “Quick Market Home Analysis” by Key Realty
  •     and more!

Additional partners include the Wood County Committee on Aging, the Area Office on Aging, Annunciation Radio, Browning of Waterville, Franciscan Care Center, Nursing Resources, Arbors of Oregon, Wellsbrooke Home Health, Comfort Keepers, Christian Home Health, Visiting Angels, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Ashanti Hospice, Advance Care Planning Coalition, Stevens Van Lines, the Moving Concierge, Ansberg-West Funeral Services, Witzler-Shank Funeral Services, New York Life, The Ashley Insurance Group, All Good Things by the Sisters of St. Francis, Bowling Green Sentinel-Tribune, Directions Credit Union.

St. Rose Parish and St. Clare Commons have been collaborating for several months to offer education, entertainment and access to resources for St. Rose’s fab50+ Club.

Future events include a spring baby shower to support Heartbeat of Toledo on May 2, a Mother’s Day Tribute and Hat Party on June 6, and Using Technology to Stay Independent on July 11.

About St. Clare Commons:
St. Clare Commons, a new Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) under construction on Five Point Road near State Route 25 in Perrysburg, Ohio, is expected to be completed in late summer 2013. Franciscan Living Communities, in partnership with the Toledo Diocese, St. Clare Commons is located adjacent to Blessed John XXIII Parish. The initial phase will offer 56 assisted living suites, 36 memory care suites and 60 private skilled nursing suites as well as a chapel, state-of-the-art therapy lab, fountains, pond, two rooftop gardens, a piano lounge and community rooms.
