We are extremely proud to be able to announce such a major accomplishment by Dr. McMahon… the first physician in the world to complete this rigorous testing
Pokomoke, MD (PRWEB) April 04, 2013
Leading biotoxin and mold illness expert Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker has recently developed a training and certification program that enables doctors to provide patients with the latest and most effective treatment for patients suffering from Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS). Now, Dr. Scott McMahon, of Roswell, New Mexico, has become the first Shoemaker Protocol Certified Physician.
“We are extremely proud to be able to announce such a major accomplishment by Dr. McMahon,” wrote Dr. Shoemaker in a recent newsletter. “There is currently no board certification covering this disease [CIRS]. The closest to such an achievement is passing this CIRS Certification Program, and Dr. McMahon is the first physician in the world to have completed this rigorous testing.”
Scott W. McMahon, MD, completed his Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry from Creighton University in 1985, and went on to complete his Medical Degree at Creighton University School of Medicine in 1989. After completing a prestigious pediatric residency at Duke University Medical Center, he has maintained board certification and practiced pediatrics in Roswell, New Mexico for 20 years. His interest in Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome began in 2009.
Dr. McMahon has spoken on CIRS and other topics at a number of medical meetings. He has written two books and co-authored two position statements. One statement, co-authored by Dr. Shoemaker and other experts, is the most comprehensive paper to date on CIRS and the health effects of exposure to the interior of water-damaged buildings. Dr. McMahon has participated in two “mold” trials. He maintains an office for CIRS patients in Roswell and another in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dr. Shoemaker continued “We anticipate many more doctors coming on line in the near term and will announce them as they complete their certification. Surviving Mold is diligently working to get certified physicians throughout the country. We are so pleased to have a doctor in the southwestern United States, so we can affirmatively answer the tens of thousands that visit our site each month, ‘Yes, we do have a doctor in your area that practices the Shoemaker Protocol!’”.
Ritchie Shoemaker, MD, is an internationally recognized leader in education, patient care, and research in the field of biotoxin related illness, and has treated over 6,000 patients. Dr. Shoemaker has written numerous papers and eight books, including the widely read Surviving Mold, and Mold Warriors. He has appeared on Good Morning America, the BBC, the Australian Broadcasting System, the Discovery Health Channel, and has spoken to the House of Representatives and the US Senate. He continues to give lectures, attend conferences on biotoxin illness, and provide one on one training to physicians working toward the Shoemaker CIRS Protocol Certification.
