Grapevine, Texas (PRWEB) April 02, 2013
Pastor Ed Young and Fellowship Church kicked off its 2013 Easter weekend with a first ever community-wide celebration event called “Good Friday in the Park” held at Klyde Warren Park. The event, which drew thousands of people from across the metroplex, was a huge success according to both park officials and the church.
Pastor Young said of the event, “We were thrilled to welcome thousands to celebrate with us Friday night! There’s no question that Klyde Warren Park is Dallas’ premier outdoor venue. And to host Good Friday in the Park there was phenomenal! It was more than an event; it was an experience. And we are looking forward to continuing the celebration this weekend at all our locations!”
From a bird’s eye view (as seen below), the park could be seen full of thousands of children, couples and families who came out to celebrate the beginning of the Easter weekend. And the Fellowship Church team did not disappoint.
Filled with family activities, food trucks, all-original music by the Fellowship Church worship team, and a message by Pastor Ed Young about the meaning of Good Friday and Easter, Fellowship’s “Good Friday in the Park” was an event many will remember for years to come.
Ed Young says, “At Fellowship Church, we want people to understand the meaning behind this time of the year. We hosted this event on the coolest bridge in the city, because we’re talking about the ultimate bridge – the bridge of Jesus Christ – that God has built to us all. This Friday, this weekend and every weekend, we simply take a page out of Jesus’ playbook and communicate the truth in ways that people enjoy and understand. There was no better place to do that Friday Night than at Klyde Warren Park!”
In addition to this Good Friday event, Ed Young will host Easter celebrations at each Fellowship Church location. This year’s series “Bridges: Building and Burning Relationships” is designed to help people in all walks of life understand how bridges can help us all reach otherwise unreachable destinations-figuratively and literally speaking.
Ed Young says about the series of talks, “We all have relationships in life. After all, we’re all relational beings. We have some that are just how they should be. Others are ones we’d like to revisit. Some we even wish we’d done differently. Through this series, we’re going to help people understand how to make the most of our relationships – starting with the most important relationship any of us can have…a relationship with God.”
All Easter experiences at Fellowship Church are free and open to the public. For a listing of all Fellowship Church’s locations and Easter experience times, as well as normal weekend experience times, visit the church’s website.
