The long slog to become a fully-licensed certified Appraiser just got easier; the Ohio Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing recently announced that all types of qualifying education can now be taken completely via online courses. In response, McKissock has developed a full suite of classes that allow appraisers, in any phase of their qualifying education, to take all of their hours online.

In a statement released by the Appraisal division of the Ohio Licensing Board, the commission stated that “we now accept distance (online) education for qualifying education for all appraiser credentials.” This includes the 75 plus hours needed to become a Registered Assistant, Licensed Appraiser, or Certified Residential or Certified General appraiser. As an IDECC-certified and TAF-approved course provider, McKissock has made available hundreds of hours of original online course content to help appraisers work their way through the license process. “We are thrilled with this development” says Matt Eubanks, VP of Appraisal Education at McKissock. “We have always believed that appraisers should have control over how they learn and when they learn. Online classes give professionals this flexibility.” McKissock has been offering online qualifying education for appraisers in many other states for the past decade.

In addition to the new online qualifying education courses, the company will continue their 20-year tradition of offering continuing education classroom courses locally throughout Ohio as well as offering a library of 26 online continuing education courses (over 140 hours) and 10 live webinars classes (more than 45 hours).

With this announcement, Ohio joins the ranks of 36 other states that allow qualifying education to be fulfilled online. There is an expectation that this trend will continue as other states heed the feedback from licensees on the value and convenience of online education.
