Open Space Authority Seeks Applicants to Fill Board Vacancy

The Santa Clara County Open Space Authority is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on its Board of Directors. The vacancy is for District 6, which includes the San Jose neighborhoods of Willow Glen, Naglee Park, Spartan-Keyes, Luna Park and Alum Rock. The vacancy is effective April 11, 2013.

The Santa Clara County Open Space Authority is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on its Board of Directors. The vacancy is for District 6, which includes the San Jose neighborhoods of Willow Glen, Naglee Park, Spartan-Keyes, Luna Park and Alum Rock. The vacancy is effective April 11, 2013.

The Open Space Authority Board of Directors is composed of seven members who are elected to represent a specific geographic district within the Open Space Authority’s boundaries. Directors have full authority and responsibility for the 1) development of policies, procedures and regulations for agency operations; 2) approval of budgets and review of agency finances; and 3) approval of land acquisitions and capital improvements.

To qualify for consideration, candidates must be at least 18 years old, be registered to vote in District 6 and live within the boundaries of District 6. Candidates may check the Board map on the Authority’s website to determine whether they reside within District 6.

Qualified members of the public who are interested in serving on the Board of Directors are encouraged to submit a completed application packet no later than 12 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2013.
