Due to the high demand of this much anticipated device, Google created a contest whereby eight thousand entrants were chosen based on influence, social media followings and celebrity. Winners were still required to pay the hefty $1,500 cost for the device.
Google glass boasts a number of SIRI-like features including hands-free video recording, social sharing, directions in front of you, translation and voice-activated interactivity. Google Glass also features full integration into various Google accounts including Gmail, Voice, Photos, YouTube and more. The Google Glass version made available in this giveaway is the “Explorer Edition” designed by professional electronics designer, Chris Gammel.
