Four of Acadian Ambulance’s medics—Paul O’Bannon, James Adams, David Melancon, and Jessica McClosky—were honored at the American Ambulance Association’s 2013 Stars of Life Celebration. Held annually in Washington, DC, the Stars of Life Celebration is a three day national event that honors the top ambulance service professionals. The Stars are chosen for their extraordinary work ethic and dedication in every area of the industry. The four medics were among only 78 Stars recognized at this elite event.
In addition to sightseeing, banquets and receptions, Stars meet with congressional staffers and discuss legislation that is important to the emergency medical services community.
The medics were chosen to attend after receiving an elite award from Acadian: O’Bannon and Adams are Acadian’s Paramedics of the Year and Melancon and McClosky are their EMT Basics of the Year. The nominees and winners are voted upon by their peers, and honored at an annual luncheon.
