Lex Products' New Terrapin Station Power Distribution Box for Construction Site Use

“The Terrapin Station fills a growing need for safe and more durable portable power distribution on construction sites where equipment is exposed to rough treatment and harsh environments,” said Bob Luther, CEO of Lex Products Corp.

Lex Products has introduced the PowerHOUSE™ Terrapin Station™, the first-ever portable power distribution box to meet stringent UL, NEC and OSHA safety requirements for construction site applications, and also feature a heavy duty rubber enclosure for enhanced protection and durability.

Designed to deliver power from electrical panels or portable, the Terrapin Station meets OHSA standards for open-neutral GFCI protection and circuit overload protection. The cULus Listed, TYPE 3R Rainproof box is ideal for powering a wide range of construction site equipment.

“The Terrapin Station fills a growing need for safe and more durable portable power distribution on construction sites where equipment is exposed to rough treatment and harsh environments,” said Bob Luther, CEO of Lex Products Corp. “In addition, the Terrapin Station’s rugged construction provides extended product performance and a return on investment in the form of reduced costs associated with regular equipment repair and replacement.” He added that the Terrapin Station’s heavy duty rubber enclosure is built to outlast competitive boxes, which feature inferior material, such as painted steel, which can be damaged or rendered inoperable in a short amount of time.

Two configurations offer a choice of GFCI protected 20 Amp duplex or locking receptacles, and both models feature (1) 30 Amp locking receptacle, (1) 50 Amp California-style locking inlet, and (1) California-style feed thru receptacle. Applicable overcurrent protection is provided via thermal magnetic branch-rated circuit breakers.

Enhanced Safety: Terrapin Station power distribution boxes are cULus Listed and TYPE 3R Rainproof for safe and reliable use in outdoor environments. Thermal magnetic branch-rated circuit breakers provide overcurrent protection for safe operation and the open-neutral GFCI modules help to prevent unsafe operating conditions and nuisance tripping. In addition, the Terrapin Station’s sturdy metal legs can be adjusted to the NEC regulatory compliant height of six inches above the ground.

Unprecedented Durability: Rugged and weather resistant construction enables the box to withstand rough handling and severe environments. The heavy duty molded rubber enclosure and lid are fully insulated and resistant to shock, impact and corrosion for enhanced worker safety and product longevity.
The Terrapin Station’s circuit breakers are located under a heavy duty rubber, waterproof, self-closing lid for added breaker protection, and GFCI modules are shielded with weather resistant boots. Receptacles and inlets are protected from dirt and moisture intrusion by heavy-duty, spring-loaded covers.
Designed for Convenience: The Terrapin Station is lightweight for easy portability, and compact for operation in confined spaces. A feed thru feature allows multiple boxes to be placed along one feed. The box’s adjustable legs can adjusted from a six inch height for standard operation to 3 inches for convenient storage and transport.
