New York, NY (PRWEB) April 09, 2013
Brian Gottesman, a public relations and marketing executive is opening up Brian Gottesman PR, a one person PR firm. He specializes in Media Relations, E-Marketing, Press Releases, Corporate Presentations, Market Launches, Crisis Communications, Speeches, Internal Communications, Strategic Communications, Social Media Marketing, Web Casts and Annual Reports
He began working in public relations and marketing in September 2008 by creating a Facebook group challenging the homophobia in the Jewish Community. The group’s name was “Religious Orthodox Jews for an Apology from Rabbi Moshe Tendler to Joy Ladin.” He felt strongly about an injustice done to Joy Ladin, recently listed as one of Forward magazines top 50 Jewish influential people.
In August 2010 Brian worked as a page in the Mid-Manhattan Library branch of the New York Public Library (NYPL). His duties were to recommend library materials to patrons and refer them to various services, collections and areas of the library, and arranging, and shelving books in chronological and/or alphabetical order. During this time the library experienced much turmoil due to impending closure of the library branch and redistribution to the Main Branch. Mr. Gottesman experienced first-hand the efforts and resources used to make the library more appealing to customers. The New York Times writes in a February 2012 article titled Ambitions Rekindled at Public Library “The plan, which will now involve selling two of the system’s best-known libraries — the Mid-Manhattan branch and the Science, Industry and Business Library — was announced in 2008, when it was expected to be substantially completed by 2014.” For the time being, the library is still open and operational due to the involvement of public relations strategies.
From August 2011 until December 2012 Brian worked for Lew Fidler, New York City Councilman and Assistant Majority leader under Christine Quinn. Responsibilities included research policies, dissemination of information about communities in order to help constituents, create sympathetic and congratulatory letters to constituents, organizations, and politicians and Digitalize files using Microsoft Excel. In March 2012 Councilman Fidler ran and lost by a handful of votes for a now non-existent state senate seat. If Christine Quinn wins the mayoral election Councilman Lew Fidler will most likely be in her cabinet.
From September 2011 till September 2012 Brian was an occupier at Occupy Wall Street. In November 2011 he became one of the fifteen full time members of the sanitation team.
Brian has also done some pro bono public relations work. He attained an article for a client showcasing her as a model a month before she was hired for a modeling job. He also created and led a PR and marketing campaign on her behalf a month before she performed at SXSW, where she got photographed by Elle Magazine due to his excellent E-marketing and strategic communications skills. According to her, Brian is a “good person.”
His other pro bono job was editing/revising a press release as well as consulting for a store opening. Within a month of the store opening they received a glowing article from New York Magazine.
