Article outlines the benefits of hiring our nation's best and brightest, the Veterans of our Armed Forces.

Leadership, grace under pressure, disciplined, performance-oriented, goal-oriented, result-oriented, self-sacrificing and communicative describes those transitioning from the military. What employer wouldn’t hire prospective employees with those traits? CEO Debbie Gregory explains the many reasons why hiring Veterans makes good business sense in her article, “A Compelling Case for Hiring Veterans”.

Published in the National Association for Health Care Recruitment’s quarterly magazine, Ms. Gregory shares the challenges faced by today’s employment recruiters in filling their in-demand job openings, especially those requiring the most up-to-date education and technology. The healthcare profession is demanding more skilled professionals, especially as the population ages.

According to Ms. Gregory, “Military medicine is world-class. Healthcare professionals who serve are a valuable commodity to hospitals and companies seeking nurses, doctors and allied health professionals”. The article goes on to say that although highly trained and highly skilled, hiring military veterans impacts a company’s bottom line due to the attractive tax incentives offered by the federal government. Ms. Gregory refers to the significant tax credits ranging from $2,400 to $9,600 in the Returning Heroes & Wounded Warriors Work Opportunity Tax Credit. The bill has been extended through the end of 2013, and could be extended even longer.

Ms. Gregory added that “America’s Veterans are among our country’s most valuable resources, and are highly viable in all occupational areas.” If you want to find out more about these tax credits, please visit When the next tour is back home, it’s on Military, “The Go To Site”.
