Portland, OR (PRWEB) April 06, 2013

Optica, a leading manufacturer of HD network cameras, is proud to announce that its newest PTZ HD speed dome camera is now ONVIF Profile S certified. ONVIF is a global interoperability standard for IP-based physical security devices, regardless of manufacturer.

As a certified ONVIF Profile S device, the Optica P218Z PTZ camera supports integration with other ONVIF-compatible software and systems, making it a future-proof, flexible solution that can reduce long-term security costs for end users. In order to meet Profile S criteria, a device must pass conformance tests to ensure features such as video streaming, device discovery, and pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) commands work with the ONVIF protocol.

The P218Z streams full HD 1080p video resolution at 30 FPS, and includes a 18x optical zoom lens for extremely crisp, detailed images. To further boost image clarity, the Optica P218Z is engineered with wide dynamic range, 3D noise cancellation, and true day/night functionality. The camera can be powered by PoE+, and native PTZ features include 360-degree ‘endless’ panning, proportional pan & tilt, sequence tours, 250+ PTZ presets, live view control, cruise tours, home tours, and PTZ auto-flip.

Designed to operate in both indoor & outdoor environments, the Optica P218Z is housed in a vandal-proof IP66-rated enclosure for protection against moisture and dust. An attached heater enables the P218Z to operate in temperatures down to -40F (24VAC required).

Like all Optica cameras, the Optica P218Z was designed with professional-quality features like PoE/PoE+ technology, privacy masks, H.264 quad streams, network failure detection, tamper detection, progressive scan, local SD card recording, and vertical view mode. OpticaCMS software is included with each camera to view, manage, and record up to 64 channels.
