PlayCore, a leading designer, manufacturer, and marketer of a broad range of play and recreation products, will be holding Professional Development Symposium in Bakersfield, California, on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Presented by PlayCore’s Center for Professional Development, the event will include sessions that illustrate the importance of making play a priority in communities by sharing research on the benefits of play from the world’s leading play scholars. The event will also include sessions featuring playground maintenance, the new ADA standards for accessible design, and moving beyond accessibility to focus on creating inclusive environments for people of all ages and abilities.
Designed for professionals in the fields of park and recreation, landscape architecture and education, the Symposium will begin at 8:30 am and will be held at the Martin Luther King Community Center in Bakersfield, CA and is hosted by City of Bakersfield Recreation and Parks and CPRS District 15. GameTime and Great Western Park & Playground are proud to sponsor these events. Director of Programs & Partnerships, Jennie Sumrell from PlayCore’s Center for Professional Development and Regional Manager, David Hill from GameTime, will conduct interactive sessions that offer Continuing Education Units for professionals and promise to be lively, informative, and educational.
