Michael Barrett Joins HookLogic Board

Programmatic media visionary signs on to help guide newest ad exchange

HookLogic, the leader in performance marketing to online shoppers, today announced that Michael Barrett, former CEO of Admeld, has joined the company’s board of directors. The addition of Barrett, who most recently served as Chief Revenue Officer for Yahoo!, follows the successful launch of HookLogic’s revolutionary Retail Search Exchange, a real-time bid marketplace where brands vie for enhanced product placement across a network of retailers.

Barrett joined Admeld as CEO in 2008, and under his leadership the company became the leading global supply side platform for premium publishers, resulting in a sale to Google in 2011. Prior to Admeld, Barrett served as CRO of Fox Interactive Media, where he oversaw worldwide revenue for all properties including MySpace and FoxSports.com. Before that, Barrett held senior roles at interactive leaders including AOL, GeoCities, and Disney Online.

Barrett joins the Bain Capital Ventures-backed company following its recent launch of the Retail Search Exchange, a cost-per-click, bid marketplace that empowers brands to win top of sort search placement across a network of premium retailers. The company recently launched the baby and toy category with retailers including BabyAge.com, Rakuten.com Shopping (formerly Buy.com), and the largest baby and toy retailer online.

Barrett joins existing board members Scott Friend and Deepak Sindwani of Bain Capital Ventures, and HookLogic co-founders, Jonathan Opdyke and Vardaan Vasisht.
