Penton Technology Group, publisher of Paul Thurrott's SuperSite for Windows, has announced the launch of the Microsoft Office 365 Infocenter. This cloud computing information site will provide tips, resources, videos, tweets, and exclusive articles about various subscription plans that make up Office 365.
Office in the Cloud
Office 365 is a Microsoft subscription service that provides access to popular Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Whereas the traditional Microsoft Office suite allows installation of the products on a physical system only, Office 365 provides cloud-based access to Microsoft Office applications and other services such as Lync web conferencing and Exchange Online hosted email (for business subscriptions) or SkyDrive online storage and Skype world minutes (for home users).
Users pay for a monthly or annual subscription to the service. Available plans range from Office 365 Home Premium to Office 365 Enterprise E1. Navigating these various plans can be tricky, and managing cloud computing services—especially on the enterprise level—is still a fairly new experience for most IT pros.
"I'm Living Office 365"
Paul Thurrott, founder of the popular Supersite for Windows, will provide content that reveals every aspect of this cloud- and subscription-based computing product. The Office 365 Infocenter offers a wealth of information to help bring readers up to speed—fast.
"When it comes to evaluating something as comprehensive as Office 365, you can’t just use it briefly," in the course of writing reviews or tutorials, explains Thurrott. "So I’m not just writing about Office 365, I’m living Office 365."
The Infocenter will include—
- Tips on important topics, such as how to navigate cloud computing services
- Resources for IT pros and Office 365 users
- Photos, screenshots, and videos
- A live Twitter feed
- Feature articles
Articles will revolve around Office 365 news, tutorials, reviews, and more. "I’ll explore multiple facets of the service—from both administrative and end user standpoints—as I plot my own transition to Office 365," says Thurrott.
American Business Media recently awarded Paul Thurrott's SuperSite for Windows the prestigious Jesse H. Neal Award for Best Blog. IT pros can look forward to the same high standard of quality in the new Infocenter.
