Their marketing team has made tremendous digital strides over the past year with AlbertsonsMarket.com, and their understanding of how social, mobile, digital offers, lists, and content all need to come together for a single user experience.

MyWebGrocer, a leading provider of digital grocery solutions, is once again expanding its U.S. presence, launching new online grocery tools for more than 870 newly acquired Acme, Albertsons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s and Star Market stores nationwide. All of the banners will implement MWG’s innovative digital marketing solutions that provide access to planning tools, digital circulars, online advertising, social media, digital marketing and mobile apps.
Albertsons LLC is the subsidiary of AB Acquisition LLC, which acquired the Albertsons-bannered stores and also provides digital and social media services to New Albertson’s, Inc., a separate AB Acquisition subsidiary that has acquired the Jewel, Acme, Shaw’s and Star Market divisions.
Karl Meinhardt, Vice President, Digital & Social for Albertsons LLC commented, “MyWebGrocer has been a highly valued partner of Albertsons Markets since we worked together to launch our new website in 2012. The completion of this transaction now allows Albertsons LLC and New Albertson’s, Inc. to leverage the MWG partnership and scale our digital initiatives across the new stores quickly and efficiently, in a way that only MWG can support. We have the combined benefit of an advanced digital partner to build our core infrastructure with the flexibility of developing and running custom content and marketing programs for our division-centric approach.”
Acme, Albertsons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s and Star Market will also be using MWG’s advertising platform where they can feature ads for top Consumer Packaged Goods brands, as well as private label products. These actionable ads allow customers to add products to their online shopping list with one click and give brands exposure to the largest online grocery audience in the country.
MWG will support 604 Albertsons-branded stores once the transition is complete, along with 117 Acme stores in the Philadelphia area, 175 Jewel-Osco stores in the Midwest and 169 New England-based Shaw’s & Star Markets.
“Albertsons LLC and New Albertson’s, Inc. are incredible partners of MyWebGrocer. We are thrilled that they have the confidence in us to drive their digital marketing goals for these four significant divisions,” said Curt Alpeter, Executive Vice President of MyWebGrocer. “Their marketing team has made tremendous digital strides over the past year with AlbertsonsMarket.com, and their understanding of how social, mobile, digital offers, lists, and content all need to come together for a single user experience. This will be a huge advantage as they build and execute the strategies for AcmeMarkets.com, Albertsons.com, JewelOsco.com, and Shaws.com.”
