Oakland, CA (PRWEB) April 10, 2013
On Saturday, April 13, 2013, Oakland Zoo will celebrate Earth Day from 10:00am – 3:00pm, with the theme, “Party for the Planet.” More than forty local environmental organizations are taking part in the celebration, and the public is invited to tour interactive Earth Stations throughout the Zoo.
Party for the Planet also includes live animal presentations, entertainment by Trapeze Arts, storytelling with giant nylon balloon animals, face painting, and hula hooping in the Zoo Meadow. Besides being entertaining, this day-long event is an opportunity for families to learn more about their favorite animals and the Zoo’s conservation efforts for each species.
All ages are welcome for a day of fun, learning, and inspiration. The 2013 Earth Day event at Oakland Zoo is included with regular Zoo admission ($11.75 for children/seniors; $15.75 for adults; parking $8.00). Bring a used ink cartridge or cell phone to recycle and receive a free train ride.
