April 2013 marks the 5-year anniversary of the launch of Mad Mimi. The email marketing service simultaneously reaches the 150,000 customers benchmark.

Mad Mimi is a bootstrapped start-up, created by Gary Levitt. When he was unable to find an email service that met his needs for music promoting, he began his own. Gary initially taught himself code and then hired developers and his brother, Dean Levitt, to help. One by one, his company gathered users because of its easy-to-use composer, competitive prices, and unique vibe in an industry populated by more traditional providers. Mad Mimi's customer service is its biggest marketing asset. Personal, thoughtful help has caused thousands of customers to tell their friends and businesses about the app.

Today, Mad Mimi sends, tracks and shares more than 40 million emails a day. In February 2012, Mad Mimi released version 2 of the web app. It was the first major upgrade since its launch in 2008. Version 2 featured improvements to Mad Mimi's drag and drop composer, theme editor, scheduling, and big investments in infrastructure. Mad Mimi's customers span the globe, including the U.K., South Africa, Russia, Turkey, Canada, United States, Australia, and France.
