Explore Tibet, a Lhasa-based tour company, is offering an overland tour from Tibet to Kathmandu, Nepal. The 8-day trip includes a trip to Mount Everest Base Camp.
“This trip is one of the most popular adventure tours in the world, but it was closed to foreign tourists in 2012, but now it is opened” Explore Tibet have said. “We had several groups visited there, visitors cross the mighty Himalayas and view the panorama of the world’s highest peaks.”
The Tibet tour begins in Tibet’s capital, Lhasa. With an elevation of 3,490 m, Lhasa is one of the highest cities in the world. Enjoying almost 3,000 hours of sunlight every year, and thus sometimes called “the sunlit city” by Tibetans, the city contains many culturally significant Tibetan Buddhist sites, including Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple, which are both UNESCO World Heritage sites.
“Upon your arrival to the holy city of Lhasa, you will be greeted by the lovely blue sky and impressive glimpses of many monasteries,” Explore Tibet have said.
Leaving Lhasa, en route to Mount Everest and Nepal, travellers will view Yamdrok lake, the Karo la glaciers, Gyantse Khubum stupa and Tashi Lhunpo monastery.
“These sites will repeatedly stir you with astonishment and appreciation and will keep the trip memorable throughout our eight-day excursion,” Explore Tibet have said.
Entering the Himalayas, the tour will cross several mountain passes, stopping off at several Buddhist monasteries and Mount Everest Base Camp.
“After seeing the gorgeous golden face of the sun as it reflects off of Mount Everest, we will drive to Nepal by descending steeply into the valley of Mutsang Tsangpo,” Explore Tibet have said.
Explore Tibet is a locally-owned travel agency committed to kailash trek, Tibetan travel permit and sustainable practice.
