ChurchPlaza a Sarasota, Florida based national and international provider of church chairs, church seating and other quality products to the American and International church markets, today announced that it is the first church and sanctuary chair provider to announce full compliance with all existing and pending US and International and Industry Association standards regarding raw materials and components used in church chair manufacturing.

Utilizing US government certified mills, approved suppliers and independent international testing laboratories, all ChurchPlaza church chairs, sanctuary seating and church seating are in full compliance with CARB (California Air Resources Board) Phase 2 and The Formaldehyde Standards for Composite Wood Products Act limiting the emissions of formaldehyde, a known health hazard and carcinogen.

In addition, all foam used in ChurchPlaza Chairs is certified to have non-detectable emission levels of TDCPP, a known carcinogen present in many commercial flame retardants as are all paints used certified in compliance with applicable regulations.

“While known as the highest quality church and sanctuary chairs available to churches, we are now pleased to be certified as the SAFEST church and sanctuary seating” noted Dr. Thomas McElheny, Founder and CEO of ChurchPlaza. He also noted that the high quality foam used in ChurchPlaza chairs does not contain formaldehyde adding to the safety of ChurchPlaza’s chairs and that chair fabrics exceed standards established by US and International law and trade organization regarding formaldehyde.

Nitza Dowdy, ChurchPlaza’s General Manager, summed up the importance of the announcement saying, “the internet and economic stresses have fueled the emergence of church chair providers focused on producing and selling the cheapest chairs possible”. She noted that ChurchPlaza’s actions will not only make their customers safer but will hopefully educate other churches in the US and internationally about the dangers of buying uncertified church and sanctuary seating

Headquartered in Sarasota, Florida, ChurchPlaza maintains manufacturing and warehousing capabilities at 4 locations and has been endorsed by 45 national denominations, ministries and/or their publishing houses over the past 27 years. For further information contact cslocum(at)churchplaza(dot)com.
