As a nation, we often wonder just how we can say thank you to our heroes and their families, and Gift Card Week provides a tangible way to express gratitude to the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.

Overland Park, KS (PRWEB) April 17, 2013

Gift Card Impressions and military support charity Operation Gratitude today announced Gift Card Week, taking place this summer from June 27 to July 4, to benefit America’s military service men and women.

“The purpose of Gift Card Week is to give Americans an opportunity to recognize those who serve our country this Fourth of July holiday,” said Gift Card Impressions Chief Executive Officer, Brett Glass. “As a nation, we often wonder just how we can say thank you to our heroes and their families, and Gift Card Week provides a tangible way to express gratitude to the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.”

Participants will be able to visit giftcardweek.com to purchase a gift card from leading retailers and restaurants to be sent to a friend, family member or neighbor that has served our country at any point in their lives.

Additionally, a customizable Military Appreciation video will be available to consumers to send for free during Gift Card Week (a $1.99 value) to let that special service member know that a gift of thanks is on its way. The video uses a new, state-of-the-art personalization technology that allows the sender to include the recipient’s photo, name and a custom message to convey a very heartfelt thank you.

People who do not know a Military person can participate by purchasing a gift card that will be included in an Operation Gratitude care package that will reach a military person or a military family.

As part of Gift Card Week, Gift Card Impressions will donate to Operation Gratitude 2% of the total value of all gift cards sold.

“We have seen first-hand how notes, care packages and good wishes of support can truly lift the spirits of our military men, women and their families,” said Operation Gratitude founder, Carolyn Blashek. “In keeping with Operation Gratitude’s mission of providing hands-on opportunities to say thank you to our nation’s heroes, we are happy to support Gift Card Week.”

About Operation Gratitude
Operation Gratitude annually sends 100,000+ care packages filled with snacks, toiletries, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation addressed to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed in harm's way, to their Children left behind, and to Veterans, First Responders, Wounded Warriors and their Care Givers. Their mission is to lift morale, bring a smile to a service member's face and express to our Military and their families the appreciation and support of the American people. Each package contains donated product valued at $75-100 and costs the organization $15 to assemble and ship. For safety and security, assembling of packages occurs at the Army National Guard armory in Van Nuys, California. Operation Gratitude will celebrate the shipment of its One Millionth Care Package this December. For more information, please visit http://www.OperationGratitude.com
