Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) April 20, 2013
AmeriPride Services Inc., a leading supplier of linen and uniform rental services in North America, announced today that its Minneapolis location is among the first commercial laundry facilities worldwide to earn TRSA’s ‘Hygienically Clean Healthcare’ designation, verifying that textiles cleaned in the plant meet hygiene standards appropriate for medical facilities.
The Minneapolis facility joins a small handful of laundry facilities that have achieved this milestone. In November, AmeriPride’s Twin Falls laundry was the first ever to reach this certification.
“This achievement demonstrates our commitment to the customer through ongoing improvements to our cleaning processes,” said John Sutherland, SVP of U.S. Operations for AmeriPride. “By understanding and responding to our customers’ needs, we’ve been able to differentiate ourselves in the industry. Achieving this new healthcare designation in several of our facilities is a big win for our organization and our customers.”
To attain the certification, a commercial laundry must adhere to quality standards for its equipment, operations and personnel and undergo third-party biological testing of laundered products. Upon successful implementation of these criteria, a facility must then undergo a rigorous onsite inspection by an independent auditor selected by TRSA. AmeriPride Minneapolis is one of the first TRSA member organizations to fully pass inspection.
“Congratulations to AmeriPride and their Minneapolis management on the attainment of this industry milestone,” said Joseph Ricci, TRSA president and CEO. “Healthcare customers can rest assured that AmeriPride goes to exceptional lengths to prevent human illness and measure the cleanliness of its products.”
Maintaining the certification requires periodic submission of laundered products for biological testing and additional onsite inspections to ensure ongoing compliance with the certification criteria.
