I would like for the boys to have an income that they can rely on as they mature and graduate from college, and one that I can continue to create and work on after I retire from my HR consulting business.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) April 18, 2013

With an eye for design, Amy Ahrens Naef has always known she wanted to have her own home decor business. After a career spanning teaching, being a Rehab Counselor and running a HR consulting company, Amy decided she wanted to finally follow her true passion—decorating. When researching business opportunities, she found Pure-Ecommerce.com, a company that creates turnkey and custom retail internet businesses. With the help of Pure-Ecommerce.com, Amy opened A Bit of Decor, an online home decor boutique offering a wide range of accents pieces, including vases and jars, lighting and lamps, and baskets.

Amy chose to create an e-commerce business that she could ultimately transition to her two special needs sons, Logan and Cody, who were adopted when they were 7 and 8. Logan and Cody are now in college. Cody is a student in computer technology and Logan is in sequential art (comics). Both will achieve their bachelors in the next year or two.

Amy’s goal is for them to use their creative and business skills to run the business independently. Amy says, “I would like for the boys to have an income that they can rely on as they mature and graduate from college, and one that I can continue to create and work on after I retire from my HR consulting business.” My hope is that this will become a full time business for both sons. As a single mom, Amy feels great responsibility to leave a legacy for her sons. Amy’s husband passed away two years after the boys came to live with them and before the adoption was final.

A Bit of Decor offers accents decorations to help customers improve the overall look and feel of their home. Amy says, “By utilizing vases and jars, and other accent pieces, you can give your home a unique look that really can accentuate the look of your home and give it a unique feel. One thing that many people struggle with is the ability to give their home a unique feel when compared to other homes, and having the right accent items from A Bit of Decor can really help you to do so.” A Bit of Decor also offer a wide range of seasonal products, for all seasons of the year. The Spring and summer collection consists of birdhouses, decorative gardening equipment, birdbaths, and other summer related items can help to spice up your back yard and garden area during the summer.

Beginning May 1, A Bit of Decor will be opening a small boutique inside the Queen of Hearts Antiques and Interiors in Marietta, GA. Ahrens says, “There will be a combination of items from our site, as well as items that are antiques. We will be showing ways to decorate with both."
