Love Blue is a mantra we live by and we know today’s consumers do, too. They want to know they are supporting organizations making a positive impact and that their choices are driving that change.

Waitsfield, VT (PRWEB) April 18, 2013

Green may be the traditional Earth Day color, but with the annual holiday less than a week away, 1% for the Planet, the world’s largest environmental network, is turning its attention to a different color: blue. The color of this big Blue Planet that we call home, to be exact. 1% for the Planet is announcing its newest campaign, Love Blue, aiming to remind individuals, businesses, and organizations that there are 364 other days in the year to love blue, too.

1% for the Planet’s business members and nonprofit partners make strides towards environmental sustainability everyday through their involvement in the network. Business members Love Blue by making a commitment to donate 1% of their annual sales to the NGOs within the network that are leading the way for environmental change. There are over 1,000 businesses worldwide that make this annual commitment, including brands like Patagonia, Clif Bar, and Pura Vida Bracelets.

Through Love Blue, 1% for the Planet will raise awareness for the actions its businesses, nonprofits, and ambassadors take in an effort to give back to blue and how consumers can participate in this give back process by knowing what companies and individuals are making these annual commitments to donate 1% of sales.

“Whether it’s a consumer noting a 1% for the Planet seal on a product, a business making a financial commitment to fund this grassroots movement, or an NGO working daily for positive environmental impact, we’re all working together and loving Blue 365 days a year,” says Terry Kellogg, CEO of 1% for the Planet. “Love Blue is a mantra we live by and we know today’s consumers do, too. They want to know they are supporting organizations making a positive impact and that their choices are driving that change.”

Earth Day will be celebrated by groups all across the globe including many 1% for the Planet nonprofits and businesses, but when April 22 is over, the network’s love for Blue won’t skip a beat. The only question that remains is how do you Love Blue?
