Loudwater, UK (PRWEB) April 22, 2013

AEP Networks, the leading supplier of CAPS Baseline and Enhanced Grade encryption products into UK government and defence networks, today announces the launch of the UK’s first implementation of GCHQ’s PRIME interoperability standard, the X-Kryptor PRIME.

Part of the Ultra Encrypt family and an addition to the successful X-Kryptor product line, X-Kryptor PRIME is the first range of encryptors to employ GCHQ’s PRIME interoperability standard.

PRIME (Protocol Requirements for IP Modular Encryption) is an open interoperability standard for IP encryptors defined by GCHQ, the UK’s National Technical Authority for Information Assurance, based on the IETF IPsec protocol. PRIME is expected to become the preferred encryption standard for UK government and defence networks, and is also suitable for commercial and export applications.

The X-Kryptor PRIME range includes encryptors (VPN gateways) offering speeds up to 1 Gbps, a software VPN client for Microsoft Windows and an advanced, new PRIME Encryption Management System modelled on AEP Networks’ successful NMS (Net Management System). The first products will be available in Q2 2013 for commercial applications and customer evaluation, and are expected to be certified for government use at RESTRICTED / OFFICIAL level through the GCHQ CPA (Commercial Product Assurance) scheme in Q3 2013.

Mark Darvill, Managing Director of AEP Networks, said “As leaders in the high-assurance encryption market with the X-Kryptor and Net product lines, AEP Networks is excited to continue its proud history of innovation by launching the new X-Kryptor PRIME range, bringing customers all the benefits of the latest PRIME standard at an affordable price point, together with Gigabit speed and AEP Networks’ unique and well-proven device and key management capabilities”.

AEP Networks will be demonstrating X-Kryptor PRIME on stand K40 at Infosecurity Europe 2013, Earls Court, London on 23rd – 25th April.
