Call of the Loon by Dianne Mathes

"Claire Sylvan, in this stunning poetry collection, has managed to build bridges both sturdy and ephemeral between the natural world and the inner world, between the intimate and the universal and between the mundane and the mystical. Brava!"

MadeInHaliburton.ca, an online art gallery, has just released several new products in time to delight any mother on Mother's Day. There is something here for any price range and interest.

Sophia Tink, custom jeweller, has created three new pieces just for Mother's Day. The copper daffodil, open heart pendant, and contemporary hollow heart are sure to appeal to any mother or maternal figure. These items are all hand sketched, sculpted, finely detailed and finished to the highest metalsmithing standards. Her work is sold and sought after internationally.

Kim S. Warne, soapstone carver, creates many unique and desirable items that are appropriate for mothers of any background or interest. His sculpture titled "Mother's Delight" is especially poignant for a Mother's Day Gift. However, he also sandblasts images into stone and can create an image appropriate to the interests of any mother: for example a woman golfing or riding a horse.

Dianne Mathes, fibre artist, creates unique knitted or felted nests: a symbol of new beginnings and motherhood. These delightful sculptures come in various colours, sizes and price ranges and will remind Mother every day of the year that she is loved and appreciated. Some of the larger pieces include sculptures of animal mothers and their young such as illustrated in the picture.

Poetry often expresses feelings that we cannot quite capture in any other way. Claire Sylvan's poems fearlessly explore the edges and depths of everyday experience, bringing together unexpected understandings from the natural world, human interaction, and her own life. This newly released book of poetry is the perfect gift for the Mother who likes to read and contemplate the meaning of life and this wonderful world. Louise Diamond, author of "The Peace Book" and "Courage for Peace" states,
"Claire Sylvan, in this stunning poetry collection, has managed to build bridges both sturdy and ephemeral between the natural world and the inner world, between the intimate and the universal and between the mundane and the mystical. Brava!".

There are many, many more items on MadeInHaliburton.ca that would make wonderful gifts for Mother's Day. The aforementioned are only the newly released items especially for this occasion. If you are uncertain as to what your mother would like why not purchase a gift certificate and let her choose whatever delights her the most. These certificates can even purchase tickets to the wonderful Forest Festival that would provide her with a unique concert experience that she will never forget. If you have never been to the Forest Festival it is an outdoor concert venue in the middle of a private forest overlooking a lake with a floating stage. Watch the sunset as you listen to award-winning musicians entertain you and then sit under a starlit sky to continue your enjoyment: Magical.
