Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) April 22, 2013

Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT) and RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association will recognize National Infertility Awareness Week® (NIAW), April 21 through April 27, joining millions of women and men fighting the disease of infertility, healthcare professionals, psychologists and other thought leaders to promote greater awareness about infertility.

RESOLVE works to improve the lives of women and men living with infertility. One in eight U.S. couples of childbearing age is diagnosed with infertility. RESOLVE addresses this public health issue by providing community to these women and men, connecting them with others who can help, empowering them to find resolution and giving voice to their demands for access to all family building options.

Fertility education is an important part of our practice throughout the year, and especially during NIAW,” says Dr. Mark Leondires, medical director of RMACT, which hosted 32 educational seminars for patients and the general public last year. “Our goal is to help women and men find answers and get the support they need to make important medical decisions and address the medical, emotional, social and economic challenges infertility can present.”

Barbara Collura, RESOLVE’s President/CEO, says: “The theme of National Infertility Awareness Week® is ‘Join the Movement,’ and RESOLVE is delighted to work with practices and organizations across the country to call attention to the disease of infertility. This is a wonderful week when our community comes together to rally around the cause of infertility.”

RESOLVE’s NIAW 2013 is supported by its NIAW Partners: EMD Serono, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, First Response, Freedom Fertility Pharmacy, Merck, OptumHealth, OvaScience, Rite Aid, Shady Grove Fertility, and Univfy.
