The online musical instruction company Guitar Control has just released the second part of their guitar lesson on licks from the classic Yngwie Malmsteen song “I’ll See the Light, Tonight.”

Silvio Gazquez, acclaimed guitarist and instructor is here with the next lesson in his “Lick of the Day” series with Guitar Control. This is part two of two videos that cover the same tune, “I’ll See the Light, Tonight” which is from Yngwie Malmsteen’s 1985 album titled “Marching Out”. This clip covers the main interlude that comes before the guitar solo in the song.

Yngwie Malmsteen is a neoclassical heavy metal guitarist who was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1963. He picked up his first six-string at the age of 7 and it was supposedly the same day that the great Jimi Hendrix passed away. He mainly specializes in playing melodic yet insanely fast lead guitar, and some of his guitar licks are already legendary.

Although this guitar lesson is considered to be rather advanced, players of all skill levels are encouraged to try it out because it’s an excellent exercise for learning and improving alternate picking. Also, free lead guitar tabs are available by following a link that’s provided with the video, which can be very helpful.

Another nice thing about Silvio’s guitar lessons is that first he plays the lick at the regular tempo and then he proceeds to play it super slowly, so that viewers can get a better idea of the moves that he’s making on the fretboard. Again, the guitar tabs are there for extra assistance and to make things a tad easier.

Ever since the introduction of complimentary online guitar lessons, countless people all around the planet are finding out exactly how easy it can actually be to learn this incredible instrument. All that’s needed is an internet connection, a guitar, a little patience, and a lot of practice!
