Odds are Fight Should End in a Finish
Strikeforce and Bellator vet, Keith Berry is currently on a three-fight win streak, in which he finished all three of his opponents (2 by TKO, 1 by submission). In fact, of Berry’s 24 professional fights, only 3 of those fights have not resulted in a finish. King of the Cage vet, Ronald LeBreton Jr. also has a history of keeping his fights out of the hands of the judges. Of LeBreton Jr.’s 15 professional fights, only two have ever gone to a decision. Therefore, one can make the assumption that the judges for this fight will merely serve as spectators to the fireworks that Keith Berry and Ronald LeBreton Jr. are certain to provide.
When asked about fighting at Badbeat 9, Keith Berry said that “BAMMA USA is the biggest and well known local promotion in Southern California, so it was only natural (for me to fight on this card).” “If you fight for Badbeat MMA, you are going to be tested” stated BAMMA USA CEO Brett Roberts, adding “Why would you want to build your professional career knowing that you haven’t fought anyone only to make it to the UFC and become someone else’s highlight reel? Keith (Berry) wants to prove that he is ready for that level and I am giving him the opportunity by headlining the Badbeat 9 card. On the other hand, Ronald (LeBreton Jr.) has a huge opportunity to make a name for himself by performing to the level that I know he can.” Lebreton Jr. said, “He (Berry) is going to be a great stepping stone for me. I want to destroy him. I want to make sure that people know who I am. It’s time to put my foot down and I have to put my foot down and it is going to land on him.”
Although Berry might be the more recognizable name in this fight, LeBeton Jr. says that it is not for the right reasons. Ronald abides by a code of conduct set forth by martial arts, and as a Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai coach at Sparta MMA, he tries to pass along that code to his students. He doesn’t believe that Keith conducts himself by that code. Ronald’s reaction when he was offered the fight with Keith Berry was as follows: “my nose flaired up right away, my eyes got all big, I’ve been wanting Keith Berry, he is one of the bad boys. You don’t want to be that guy! It is definitely going to be a bad beat. I’m going to beat him like he is in a comic book.” LeBreton Jr. promises that the Main Event is going to be a “treat for me and for the audience.”
